Do not throw away!

We recycle it again.

Unwearable? – we recycle them to the end.

Are we dreamers?

Originally, our shoes were natural raw materials. Cotton plants, rubber trees, iron ores, oil fields or cattle.

Even if the shoes are now unwearable, they are still the same resources.

If we fail to create useful products from these resources, we may never again call ourselves creative or innovative.

We cut up the soft-elastic-springy soles to create a new material. The BounceGrain, looks like popcorn and is springy-soft.

Everything that is not reusable, we dismantle professionally so that it can be disposed of properly.

I am JASON MANZALA.

My father fled as a refugee from Angola to Switzerland when he was 14 years old. I was born in Switzerland and I am grateful to grow up here. I have never been to my home country - I only hear stories from my parents. I have on my heart to help people and give something back.

Besides my education, I work at Second Life on Saturday mornings. I am grateful that numerous shoes come to our workshop. I'm not afraid of a lot of work because I know there are a lot of feet that don't have shoes.

Future hammock?

It all starts with an idea. From one shoe we can create 499 new things, from yoga mats to acoustic walls to playgrounds... We collect the laces to knit a giant hammock. Day after day, we get to learn new things that we incorporate into our design and manufacturing process.

Old soles become bounce grain.

We chop up the soft-elastic-springy soles to create a new material - Bounce-Grain!
